About the Rijksmuseum
The Rijksmuseum is the museum of the Netherlands, housing an unparalleled collection spanning 800 years of Dutch art and history. From medieval times through the Dutch Golden Age to the present day, its vast galleries showcase over 8,000 objects of art and history.
The museum's crown jewel is Rembrandt's masterpiece "The Night Watch", but the collection also features works by Vermeer, Frans Hals, and other Dutch Masters. Beyond paintings, you'll discover intricate dollhouses, historical artifacts, Asian art, and exquisite decorative arts. The building itself is a stunning work of architecture designed by Pierre Cuypers.
